Restless vs Relevance AI.

Relevance AI builds teams of agents that run a business process end to end, wired into your existing apps. Restless is an office where people and agents work on the output together.

Relevance AI's "AI workforce" pitch sounds a lot like Restless on the surface: teams of agents, owning work end to end. Underneath, the two make quite different bets about what kind of work they're for.

What Relevance AI is

Relevance AI's Workforce lets you build coordinated teams of agents that run a business process from start to finish, triggered by signals already in your systems. You map an existing playbook by defining agents, triggers and handoffs, without code.

You can build on a drag-and-drop canvas, describe an agent in plain language and have it generate the prompt, tools and evals, or drive the platform from Claude Code, Codex or Cursor through MCP. It connects to a very large number of apps, including HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Gmail, Notion and Twilio, and approvals are a building block you can place in a flow.

Where Relevance AI is great

Relevance AI is the better pick if you want:

  • To automate a repeatable process, like lead research, outreach or support triage.
  • Deep integration with a sales and ops stack you already have.
  • To design agent teams visually or in plain language, without code.
  • A platform you can sign up for and start using, rather than something you install.

Where Restless is different

Restless is built for work that doesn't fit a playbook: the proposal, the build, the research brief that changes as you learn.

  • People in the work. Teammates co-edit documents live, comment on a passage and review the exact result, alongside the agents.
  • A company computer. Agents get a persistent Linux machine with files, Git, a browser and a desktop, not just app connectors.
  • Outcomes, not flows. Each piece of work has one accountable lead who picks the route as evidence comes in, rather than a predefined handoff chain.
  • Company identity bound to the work. Approved facts, voice and visual language travel with each output, and Restless flags work that used something you've since changed.
  • Open source and self-hosted, with your choice of Codex, Claude Code or any API model.

Honest trade-offs

Relevance AI has far more integrations and is built for exactly the go-to-market processes Restless doesn't try to template. Restless has no visual flow builder on purpose, and it's a development preview you run with Docker. If your goal is "automate our outbound sales process", start with Relevance AI.
